Question: How much training required to be a travel agent?
Ok, so I’m looking at different part time job options for when I graduate school. I don’t want to go to college but I’m will to do a year or two of tech school, or on the job training would be best. I was wondering if you need any extra schooling to be a travel agent or if that is even an option for a part time job. I know the demand for travel agents just depends on the economy at the time but how popular is that now? And how much, if any training is involved. If anyone out there is a travel agent, any imput would be appreciated.

I don’t think there is much training involved. Look into the job openings to see if they require a definite education level, if there is experience required, or if it says training provided, etc. Yahoo!’s HotJobs is a good place to start. I know that there is a degree offered at most universities for Parks, Recreation, and Tourism. This can be finished in as little as 3 years (Bachelors).
