Question: what airforce jobs travel with the plabnes in the air guard?
my local air guard unit the 109 airlift wing goes to the south pole every year and i was wandering what jobs would let me go with them?
thanks buy i ment would job would let me go to antartica, not just only fly

well, besides being the pilot or navigator, you could be a loadmaster. I’m not sure what model 130 you guys have, but if it’s fitted for the pole I’m guessing it’s not that new, so you could be a flight engineer also. Unless you guys refuel helos, I’m pretty sure there’s no Radio Operator.
There used to be these people called “flying crew chiefs,” who were big housekeepers in the sky. They also flew with the plane. Now, since they have been put in check and are relegated to just “crew chief,” they may occasionally travel with the crew; along with other, more important maintenance folks. For a TDY, they may take a Crew chief, engines, comm/nav, radar, EW
What you choose obviously depends on your education. You can’t be an officer without a bachelors.
