www.permies.com There are thousands of people willing to work on organic farms for free or nearly free. Many farmers have explored this path and found it too frustrating and have elected to no longer do this. Here are two well known farmers that have had agreat success and this is their advice to farmers considering this path. Doug Bullock and Jacqueline Freeman give advice to farmers thinking of bringing some interns/wwoofers onto their farm. I get a slice of Doug Bullock’s lunch time as he takes a break from being the guest instructor for a permaculture design course taught by Toby Hemenway. The Bullock Brothers Permaculture Homestead (www.permacultureportal.com) is famous for being a powerful intern magnet. Interns actually pay to go there. As a result, the Bullocks get to pick from a large pool of interns wanting to go there. And they have had excellent results with their intern program. Doug’s advice includes Establish your farm before you get interns. Don’t ask your interns to do just the dirty work. A lot of interns come from a priveledged background – be prepared for that. Keep the work interesting. Look for interns with some skills and maturity. If you have three or fewer interns, you shoudl include them in your family. A hot tob, sauna or pizza oven really helps. Jacqueline Freeman of Friendly Haven Rise Farm (www.friendlyhaven.com) is famous for her beekeeping skills. She tells me that in the last five years she has had more than 90 interns Some of Jacqueline’s …

Bestselling apps now free: bit.ly www.mahalo.com If you’re a “high roller” with a taste for the finer things in life, you might already know about the prestigious – and somewhat mysterioius – American Express Black Card, officially called the Centurion Card. Snopes.com says the “American Express Black Card” actually began as an “urban myth” – a special credit card that was issued only to the very rich, and very powerful. AmEx Europe director Doug Smith says the rumor “wasn’t true” but added that the company “decided to capitalize on the idea anyway.” In 1999, AmEx introduced its Centurion Card. What do we know about the Black Card? Well, it’s black, for starters. It is a charge card – and you’ve got to pay off the entire balance each month. Unlike other credit cards, the American Express Black Card is actually made out of titanium, not plastic. You may be wondering how to get the coveted American Express Black Card. You first need to determine if you even qualify for it. You must have a high credit rating. You must also already have an AmEx Platinum card. You also need to have significant assets and extravagant spending habits. How extravagant? You must charge at least 0000 each year on your Platinum card. And then there are the fees. If you are approved for an American Express Centurion Card, you’ll reportedly pay a one-time fee of 00. To keep your account open, you’ll pay 00 annually. What are the perks of having an American Express Black Card? A very high …

Nuclear physicist, marijuana connoisseur, school teacher, money launderer, gentleman, fugitive and spy…Raconteur, travel agent, writer, philosopher of science and supposed 20th century gay icon…Rock Music tour promoter, public speaker, board game appreciator and the biggest dope smuggler on the planet. Mr. Nice. From: Kenfig, South Wales, 1945. To: Oxford University, Germany, London, Ireland, Pakistan, Amsterdam, Thailand, Ibiza, Majorca, Manila, America. Jail. Contact with: the mafia, CIA, IRA and MI6. 43 aliases, 4 kids, 89 phone lines, 25 companies throughout the world and over one million books sold. We follow Howard’s prodigious rise. And fall. This is the frequently hilarious, occasionally sad, and often surreal story of Howard Marks’ life so far.
